My sidekick, Lil’ Chu and I made a video to help you safely store Christmas decorations. We show how to make an inexpensive storage system from items you already have around the home – cardboard, plastic cups, and glue. There are some commercial solutions available, too, and we’ve listed a few of them below.
Storage for Decorations
- Storage Box with Flip-top Lid: This box safely stores up to 45 ornaments. It’s transparent, so you can easily see the contents, and the attached hinged lid makes it easy to open.
- 4-Tray Ornament Storage Bag: This fabric box holds up to 82 ornaments of various sizes. It features a transparent window to see the contents and four rigid storage trays. It folds flat when not in use to save space.
- 3-Tray Fabric-Lined Ornament Bag: This luxury storage bag has lightweight fabric-lined trays that protect up to 72 ornaments. It also has a large, zippered front pocket to store a tree skirt.
- Ornament and Figurine Storage Box: This multi-purpose storage box has various sized trays for holding large and small ornaments. It also has adjustable side bins for taller figurines and table centrepieces.
Take the time to protect your cherished Christmas treasures so that you can carry on family traditions for years to come.

Lil’ Chu: Oh good! This one is okay.
Linda: Thank goodness. That is a beautiful one. That isn’t always the case, is it? Often at the beginning of the year, when it is time to decorate, we find broken ornaments – and heirloom ornaments at that. So, a simple solution is to grab a piece of cardboard that you have in the home, cut it down to size to fit a plastic box, take plastic cups and you glue your plastic cups on the cardboard, and the cardboard lies inside of the bin like this one here. The ornaments are nice and safe on the inside, and you’re storing it for another year to bring out.
Lil’ Chu: Amazing! But I might need a bit of a bigger cup for this one.
Linda: Definitely a bigger one for this.
