I had a lovely interview with Lisa Murphy of Today’s Parent magazine. We talked about creating a kid-friendly kitchen.
Our kid-friendly kitchen tips include…
- Watch where you work. Then, reorganize the kitchen accordingly.
- Designate appliances as adult-only.
- Bring it down to size. Cover a lower table with plastic wrap for kids to use as a food prep surface.
- Think “island time.” Outfit your island so the children can work with you when invited.
- Make it easy to be green. Everyone can help keep things tidy when you tuck garbage and recycling materials in pullout drawers.
- Clear the deck. Mount appliances where you can to free up counter space.
- Call the pros to contain the chaos. Pretty baskets aren’t a good solution if you can’t get your stuff organized. Find a local expert at Professional Organizers in Canada.
